NASSAU, BAHAMAS – An Appeal Court has upheld a judge’s decision to refuse bail for a man accused of the murder of former parliamentarian Donald Saunders during an attempted hold-up.

Prosecutors allege that Nicarson Nixon, and another man, ran into Rags Bar in Gambier on March 27, 2024, and robbed the business of $650.

Nixon is accused of shooting Saunders, the former representative for Tall Pines, twice.

The court of appeal ruled that the judge was entitled to find that nixon was a danger to public safety and public order.
