NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Bahamian murder accused Shelton Thompson will serve no additional jail time in the U.S. after being sentenced in a federal gun case.

The 38-year-old received time served and two years of supervised release after pleading guilty to illegally possessing a firearm.

He had faced up to 15 years behind bars.

But his legal troubles aren’t over.

Thompson is expected to stand trial for allegedly stabbing Richard Bremmer to death following a traffic accident in April 2009 when he returns to The Bahamas.

His trial was set to begin on February 19, 2024, but he never showed up.

He entered Florida legally the next day, but stayed longer than permitted.

Thompson was arrested following a traffic stop on February 12 this year.

A later search of his Miami apartment uncovered a loaded glock pistol.
