NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Teachers at Thelma Gibson Primary School, led by the Bahamas Union of Teachers president upping the ante today, taking their plight to the Office of the Prime Minister.

The goal? To get a face to face with the prime minister.

Holding placards in protest of their principal, dozens of teachers joined in protest.

Over the past few weeks, some teachers, parents and administrators at the public primary school have demonstrated as they call for the removal of the principal.

President of the Bahamas Union of Teachers Belinda Wilson led the protest, explaining that teachers have exhausted several avenues.

Our News spoke the Ministry of Education’s Permanent Secretary Lorraine Armbrister who said the Labour Director is currently addressing the matter and he will determine the way forward.
