NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A top official from Western Atlantic University School of Medicine says despite challenges brought on by hurricane Dorian and the COVID-19 pandemic, they will not turn their backs on Grand Bahama.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A top official from Western Atlantic University School of Medicine says despite challenges brought on by hurricane Dorian and the COVID-19 pandemic, they will not turn their backs on Grand Bahama.
Officials from the school pledging their commitment to the island during a community breakfast that was also attended by government and health officials as well as business leaders on that island.
In 2019, the former Minnis administration signed a heads of agreement with school officials for a $64 million medical school in Freeport.
The project is being completed in phases with the third phase expected to double the size of the campus.
Construction of that phase is anticipated to commence in the second quarter of 2024.
Goetz says they also expect enrollment will increase.
