NASSAU, BAHAMAS – New Education Director Dominique McCartney-Russell issuing a call for teamwork, in her first press conference since being appointed to the role.

Introducing herself, McCartney-Russell said she is excited to serve as the chief technical advisor to the Minister of Education, Glenys Hanna-Martin. But she believes that the goals of education need to be achieved through teamwork.

“I believe that all children can learn. Our goal should be to ensure that our children can take care of themselves and contribute positively to our developing nation,” McCartney-Russell said.

“Every single child has a right to an education, whether in New providence or Acklins… We have to work together as a team if we are going to see The Bahamas we want to see.”

McCartney-Russell has worked in Abaco, Andros, Grand Bahama and New Providence.
