NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Village Road has been a construction site for months, but the demolition and clearing of a section of the iconic entrance of the Bahamas National Trust’s retreat gardens was a surprising sight for many this week.

Bahamas National Trust officials did their best to minimize the impact of the Village Road improvement project on their retreat gardens, according to Bahamas National Trust Senior Communications Officer, Elijah Sands.

Many have had a close eye on the Village Road improvement project since earlier in the year when the removal of a historic silk cotton tree inspired many to raise questions across social media platforms.
