NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Davis administration says the country is on good economic footing following the recent first quarter fiscal report. Financial Secretary Simon Wilson says while the trend is expected to continue there are some headwinds.

One is the possibility of a recession next year along with rising fuel prices.

The government is also pointing to a lowering deficit of $20.6 million which they say is the lowest it’s been in years.

Central Bank Governor John Rolle previously shot down suggestions that a recession is headed for the country.

Wilson describes government revenue as encouraging with a recession impacting mostly lower-income households.
