NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Today is World AIDS Day, an international day dedicated to raising awareness about the AIDS epidemic.

On Thursday night, members of the Bahamas AIDS Foundation hosted a candlelight vigil to remember those who died from HIV/AIDS, as well as those who continue in the fight.

It was a somber evening, and a night of remembrance on the eve of World AIDS Day as those in attendance joined together for the Bahamas AIDS Foundation’s annual candlelight vigil.

Camille Lady Barnett, president of the Bahamas AIDS Foundation says this year’s theme is equalize.

Dr. Nikkiah Forbes, Director of the National HIV/AIDS & Infectious Disease Programme, gave a message of hope.
