NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Road to 50 off to a good start bright and early this morning. Hundreds turning out for the first ever independence themed road race. Chairperson of the Bahamas Independence Secretariat, Her Excellency Leslia Miller-Brice says this was truly an amazing fete.

Prime Minister, Philip Davis also in attendance. He says the overwhelming support bodes well for what’s to come on the road to 50.

Attendees had the option of completing a 5k or 10k race. They say it was a perfect day to kick off the celebrations.

They say the turn out shows Bahamians are ready to celebrate. 

A number of corporate partners joining in to promote the message of health and wellness.

Meantime, vendors were also on site at Clifford Park.

Now, Her Excellency adding that this is the just beginning.
