NASSAU, BAHAMAS – “Be vigilant” is the key message from police this holiday season. Press Liaison Officer, Chief Superintendent Chrislyn Skippings speaking exclusively with Our News on holiday safety tips. She also addressed a shocking crime. Where two men were driving to the airport and were allegedly robbed at gun point from people posing as police officers.

She says when Bahamians travel they are usually on high alert.

While shopping this holiday season, she says carry little cash and always be aware of your surroundings.

Other tips include:

  • Not putting empty boxes at your dumpster.
  • Not sitting inside your car.
  • Having your keys ready to get in your home.
  • And, if you are approached by a criminial, do not resist.

And, to those committing the crimes. The chief superintendent says, rest assured, police officers are out in full number.
