NASSAU, BAHAMAS – President of The Bahamas Union of Teachers not mincing words when it comes to the country’s teacher shortage.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – President of The Bahamas Union of Teachers, Belinda Wilson not mincing words when it comes to the country’s teacher shortage.
That’s Bahamas Union of Teachers President, Belinda Wilson, who says she’s been constantly communicating with education officials to get teachers in the classrooms.
Just last month, Education Minister Glenys Hanna-Martin addressed the issue of teacher shortages across the country, especially in core subjects – noting that a major concern is that many teachers are not willing to relocate to the Family Islands.
Wilson disagrees.
The B.U.T. president says she believes that if the Department of Education improves on their service to teachers and incentivize them, they will be more open to relocating to the Family Islands.
