GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Grand Bahamians celebrate the return of Junkanoo, as hundreds line Pioneers Way to witness the greatest show.

Chester Cooper, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, remarked at the talent, music, art and culture on display.

“After two years, Junkanoo is back. People are excited and this is a great opportunity for everyone to come out,” Cooper said.

“I like it here in Grand Bahama – I might come and rush next year.”

Ian Rolle, Grand Bahama Port Authority president, says he loves Junkanoo and was happy to see the return.

Junkanoo officials traveled from New Providence, just hours after the New Year’s Junkanoo parade wrapped, to witness the return on Grand Bahama.

Kishlane Smith, Deputy Co-Chair of the National Junkanoo Committee, expressed excitement seeing the youth involvement in the parade.
