NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Free National Movement is taking a hit at the government amid the firestorm over what some are seeing as government’s failure to act on the shantytown and illegal immigration issue.

FNM Leader Michael Pintard lashing out at the Davis administration for failing to act on the shantytown issue in The Bahamas.

On Wednesday, Immigration Minister Keith Bell sent a bold warning to illegal immigrants to leave or be deported.

That followed a protest outside the Office of the Prime Minister led by Coalition of Independence Leader Lincoln  Bain who too suggested the government is dragging its feet on the immigration issue

Pintard says failing to act could result in bigger issues.

But that’s a sentiment Prime Minister Philip Davis isn’t accepting. On Thursday he said his government is addressing it but doubled down telling migrants to obey the law.

However, the FNM leader says it’s as if the government has cut a deal.
