NASSAU, BAHAMAS – She is the definition of beauty and brawn. 34-year-old Zovinar Hoyte is a Royal Bahamas Defence Force marine attached to the medical facility.

She is a certified esthetician and most recently, she just completed a four-month course in Texas, where she became a combat medical specialist while training at Fort Sam.

Hoyte has been a part of the Defence Force for nearly 10 years.

Before joining the ranks, she obtained her Associate Degree in science making her a medical assistant.

Hoyte says she firmly believes in continued learning and growth, every year setting the goal to complete four training courses.

She says being a part of the Defence Force has opened her eyes to all that she is capable of adding that support from family and friends has also been helpful.
