Shelter Offered To Displaced Shantytown Residents

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Following a shantytown fire on Sunday, Social Services Minister says they have stepped in to assist with sheltering up to forty people.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Following that massive shantytown fire in southern New Providence which destroyed 20 homes Sunday, Social Services Minister Obie Wilchcombe says they have stepped in to assist with sheltering up to 40 people.

Our News asked Wilchcombe if there was a concern that residents did not turn up to the shelters because they may have lacked the proper documentation, he says that must be given consideration, but he can’t say for sure.
