NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Coin collectors now have another beautifully minted coin to add to their collections.

This one is the $50 silver proof Lignum Vitae coin in commemoration of the country’s 50th anniversary of independence.

Governor of the Central Bank of The Bahamas, John Rolle says as is tradition, the silver minted coins will be available in limited quantities – just under 1000 to be exact.

The coin will cost more than its $50 face value, according to Rolle, who says gold coins will also be minted.

The silver coin will be available for purchase on February 10.
