Fishing Hole Road Repairs to Cost $1 Million
GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – One-million-dollars will have to be spent to repair the Fishing Hole Road Causeway, after multiple calls from frustrated residents and the Grand Bahama Port Authority for a completion date of a works assessment.
GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – One-million-dollars will have to be spent to repair the Fishing Hole Road Causeway, after multiple calls from frustrated residents and the Grand Bahama Port Authority for a completion date of a works assessment.
Works Minister Alfred Sears addressing the service road which is now being used by drivers temporarily since the causeway’s closure earlier this year, after reports of multiple car accidents.
A statement by Port Authority officials on Thursday explaining they have made necessary provisions to safeguard motorists by grading the service road. That project costing the port over $20,000 and executives say the move is only a temporary fix until the Ministry of Works completes its assessment.
But residents are now complaining the service road is now causing damage to their vehicles.
