U.S. Embassy Donates $600K In Storm Supplies
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Six months out from the Atlantic hurricane season, the United States Embassy is making a $600,000 dollar donation to NEMA.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Six months out from the Atlantic hurricane season, the United States Embassy is making a $600,000 dollar donation to NEMA.
The donation consists of 28 generators for Family Islands, six reverse osmosis water purification systems, and safety equipment for shelters.
Catastrophic hurricanes aren’t new for The Bahamas as many Abaconians and Grand Bahamians are still reeling from the devastation left by hurricane Dorian.
State Minister with Responsibility for NEMA and the Disaster Reconstruction Authority Myles Laroda acknowledging through it all, the United States has remained a partner, consistently assisting in preparation for and following natural disasters.
U.S. Embassy Acting Deputy Chief of Mission Lance Posey says the donation is a result of the United States listening and responding.
