NASSAU, BAHAMAS – March 20, 2023, is the 10th annual celebration of International Day of Happiness.

The day was created by the United Nations, who says the celebration is “a way to recognize the importance of happiness in the lives of people around the world”.

The Marriage Children Family Alliance Movement is sharing their mission for happiness which they say should be moved from each individual to the family.

Founder, Cheryl Walkine-Alexandre, tells us while Bahamians have many reasons to be happy, we have been shaken by the traumas of recent years.

Approaching our nation’s 50th Anniversary of Independence, Walkine-Alexandre says family strength will be key in the next 50 years.

Vice-President of the Marriage Children Family Alliance Movement, Jason Wisdom shares four exercises for happiness.

First, to smile today, both for yourself and others, second to get together with family and friends and make some new happy memories.
