CURACAO, BAHAMAS – A sizable contingent of parents from The Bahamas are poolside at Curacao loudly and proudly cheering on our swimmers.

I talked to several of them about why it was so important that they show up and show out for Team Bahamas.

As we head into the weekend and the continuation of the CARIFTA Aquatics Championships, one thing is for sure, The Bahamas’ support system is strong.

Sitting in stands at the rear of the Enitha Brigatha pool, Bahamians and supporters have cowbells, drums and horns as swimmers hit the pool for their races.

Marvin Johnson says he’s been supporting for 15 years.

Yvonne and Anthonique Rolle came to support Team Bahamas, but more importantly their grandson and brother.
