Bah. Sees Significant Reduction In Migration
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – After what seemed to be an uptick in migrant apprehension, Defence Force Commodore Dr. Raymond Kings says they’ve seen a significant reduction in Haitian and Cuban migrants in Bahamian waters.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – After what seemed to be an uptick in migrant apprehension, Defence Force Commodore Dr. Raymond King says they’ve seen a significant reduction in Haitian and Cuban migrants in Bahamian waters.
King chalks this up to a recent shift in policy to title 42 which denies individuals the right to asylum hearings.
However, King says there was a migrant landing in Inagua Wednesday and 17 of the 22 migrants were transported to New Providence for processing.
Additionally, King says the U.S. has implemented an immigration policy for those from Haiti, Venezuela, and Nicaragua.
The new policy allows for 30,000 people per month to live in the U.S. for up to two years.
