ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA – Lawyers representing American actress Angela Bassett have issued a cease-and-desist letter to the Antigua and Barbuda Department of Tourism in relation to the use of her name and image without proper authorization.

It comes one week after the actress was named a tourism ambassador of Antigua and Barbuda.

The letter requests that the tourism board immediately stop using Bassett’s name and or image until the parties have entered into a standard release agreement.

The tourism board has been given until May 15 to acknowledge receipt.

Commenting on the issue was Antigua and Barbuda Chief of Staff at the Office of the Prime Minister, Ambassador Lionel Hurst.
