NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The government looking to put an end to the banking shortage in the Family Islands.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The government looking to put an end to the banking shortage in the Family Islands.
The acting prime minister dropped the hint as he addressed Long Islanders Friday and spoke about other developments for the island.
Acting Prime Minister Chester Cooper assuring a commercial bank will return to the Family Islands that has been plagued with the issue for quite some time.
Cooper said the move will happen in the coming months.
The news came first to Long Islanders on Friday.
Speaking at the official renaming of the Queens Highway, Cooper assured residents that a new $18m airport is on the way.
This is just one airport that is a part of the government’s Family Island Renaissance Project.
He predicts the airport should be completed in the next three years.
He also revealed the island’s tourism numbers saw a significant increase.
