NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Three weeks after the Privy Council made a landmark ruling on citizenship in The Bahamas, cabinet has made a decision on the way forward.

Attorney General Ryan Pinder telling reporters as much this week saying government will soon layout what will be the next steps.

On May 8th, the Privy Council ruled that a child born out of wedlock to a foreign woman and a Bahamian man is a citizen at birth.

Up until the ruling, the constitution had been interpreted to provide those children to apply at 18.
