NASSAU, BAHAMAS – If you’ve been on Bahamian Twitter lately, you’ve probably come across the trivia polls quickly becoming known as “citizenship tests”. The woman behind the account has much more to write than her tweets.

Ashleigh Sean-Rolle is a social commentator and a writer who’s work has been featured on CNN, the Huffington Post, and the popular Bahamian digital platform 10th Year Seniors.

But now, she’s gaining attention as the creator of the viral Twitter Bahamian trivia polls being jokingly referred to as “citizenship tests”.

When she made that first poll about Mahatma rice, she got around 200 responses, just two weeks later.

She now has tens of thousands tuning in each morning to see what the question of the day will be.

But, where do the questions come from? Like a true teacher, Sean-Rolle comes with a lesson plan.

But the social commentator is also working on cultural projects that go beyond 140 character tweets.

She’s in the process of writing her first novel, the ancestor training academy, dedicated to her grandmother.

That’s when she applied for the Creative Writing: First Novels MA at St. Mary’s University, Twickenham in South West London.
