NASSAU, BAHAMAS – COVID-19 is no longer a concern for health officials locally, according to Acting Chief Medical Officer Dr. Phillip Swann who says the country averages around three cases daily.

But Swann says surveillance continues.

The Bahamas saw four aggressive waves of COVID-19 which saw thousands of confirmed cases and hundreds of deaths.

While COVID-19 is no longer at the forefront, PAHO and W.H.O. Representative to The Bahamas and Turks and Caicos Dr. Eldonna Boisson says Bahamians should still practice the safety protocols.
