USA – A U.S. court has ordered Johnson & Johnson to pay $18.8 million to a California man who said he developed cancer from exposure to its baby powder.

The jury decided in favor of Emory Hernandez Valadez, who filed the suit last year in California.

But the 24-year-old won’t be able to collect the judgment anytime soon, as a bankruptcy court order has frozen most litigation over J&J’s talc.

The company said in a statement it will appeal the verdict.
