NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The conversation over a controversial incident involving tourists and a taxicab driver continues with industry stakeholders weighing in saying the incident that has since gone viral is unfortunate but does not reflect the industry overall. 

Taxi Cab Union President Wesley Ferguson among various stakeholders who gave his opinion on that viral video where a tourist claims she and her party of 18 were allegedly stranded after a taxi driver failed to return. 

But Ferguson is the only one concerned about this latest incident that could potentially damage the country’s reputation as a leading destination. Over at the Nassau Cruise Port, veteran taxi driver Neville Toote told our news despite the incident, he believes the  majority of drivers can still be trusted.

We spoke with tourism officials, who up to news time said, attempts by their New York offices to reach the disgruntled visitor were unsuccessful.
