NASSAU, BAHAMAS – This past weekend parents have been out and about taking advantage of the VAT holiday on back-to-school items, ensuring that their little ones are equipped for the new term.

But before heading back to class, there are some essentials that they just can’t go without. Sales clerk at Sandy’s, Debbie Ann Jones says this year, uniforms remain their number one seller.

And as for school bags she says the ones with characters sell the quickest.

But what about footwear? Over at John’s shoe store, they’ve been getting youngsters ready for back to school for decades. General Manager, John Cathopoulis tells us this year has been business as usual.

And then there’s athletic wear. Sales Associate at the Athlete’s Foot, Kirshon Smith shows us what’s trending this year.

As for the hottest sellers, he says the Sprayground bags and Air Forces.
