NASSAU, BAHAMAS – As the Ministry of Public Service aims to wrap up its review of promotions by year’s end, The Bahamas Public Service Union President is cautioning the ministry not to disenfranchise those who’ve been waiting for those promotions for quite some time.

Jillian Gray has that.

BPSU President Kimsley Ferguson says he’s concerned about the announced public service promotion review as he hopes no one is disadvantaged because of it.

The review is expected to be complete by Christmas, according to Minister of State for the Public Service Pia Rolle who says they’re clearing the promotion backlog and assessing nearly 400 promotions announced in the final weeks of the previous administration.

Ferguson says the promotions at social services may not have been politically motivated.
Meanwhile, Ferguson is applauding the move by the government to increase pensions and reinstate increments.
