NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Swimming dominated the National Sports Awards on Saturday.

Lamar Taylor took home several awards including collegiate Male Athlete of the Year and the Olympic Committee award.

Youth National Team of the Year award and Senior National Team of the Year award – both went to the 2023 Carifta Aquatics Team.

National coach of the year went to Travano Mcphee, who was an assistant coach for the 2023 CARIFTA Aquatics Team.

The national federation of the year went to Bahamas Aquatics and the community sports award of the year went to Let’s Swim Bahamas.

We spoke with Coach Mcphee following the win.

Other winners included Family Island School Athlete of the Year which went to Andros’ Tylah Pratt and High School Female Student Athlete of the Year Jamiah Nabbie.

Taking home the Junior High School Male Athlete of the Year was Sailor Criag Ferguson Jr.

Now taking home the top trophies for the night were Terrance Jones Jr who received the Minister of Sports Award for Excellence and Jazz Chisolm Jr. who snagged the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence.
