Police Warn Against Fraud

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Weeks away from the holiday season, police say acts of fraud are on the rise. Police Sergeant Travis Strachan issued a warning to members of the public to remain vigilant both on and offline.

The personal assistant would then send over banking information to be paid for future jobs.

Those selling cars and boats are now asking for funds to be wired to different accounts, only to never receive their goods.

Strachan is also warning small businesses against collecting cheques.

Meanwhile, social media is making it easier for crooks to carry out acts of fraud.

Officers are encouraging anyone who believes they may be a victim of fraud to call the police or to visit the financial crime office.
