GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Over the last several weeks, candidates and their party supporters have been canvasing the West Grand Bahama district, hearing the concerns and needs of residents in those communities.
GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Over the last several weeks, candidates and their party supporters have been canvasing the West Grand Bahama district, hearing the concerns and needs of residents in those communities.
According to Free National Movement Leader, Michael Pintard, one of the concerns heard consistently was inadequate parks for children.
It’s prompted a group of volunteers to renovate a park in the Pine Forest community but the effort was met with some resistance.
Pintard says they were stunned when the local government councillors and police showed up to stop the project from moving forward.
Dr. Ray Evans and Everette Stuart have been resident in the community for decades. They say they too believe the community is in dire need of safe spaces for children.
