NASSAU, BAHAMAS – November is Healthy Skin Awareness Month and we’re continuing to raise awareness about your body’s largest organ. Dermatologist at the Art of Skin Clinic, Dr. Deidre Nelson-Sands spoke about the importance of yearly scans.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – November is Healthy Skin Awareness Month and we’re continuing to raise awareness about your body’s largest organ. Dermatologist at the Art of Skin Clinic, Dr. Deidre Nelson-Sands spoke about the importance of yearly scans.
As a predominately black nation, Dr. Nelson-Sands says Bahamians can sometimes underestimate the effects of consistent sun exposure on the skin.
She shares some signs and symptoms you should be aware of that could signal it’s time to see a dermatologist.
And when it comes to prevention, she says daily use of sunscreen remains the best protection. Dr. Nelson-Sands adding that medical professionals are even now recommending sunscreen use at night.
