GB MP: Those Fishermen Need Help

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Grand Bahama fishermen had their livelihoods severely impacted after their Tynes Beach access ramp was cut off without warning or consultation. That matter was brought before Parliament this morning.

Tynes Beach, an area in the central Grand Bahama community, has been the access point for countless fishermen throughout the country to launch their boats for over three decades.

This weekend, they arrived to their spot, only to meet a fence erected by the property’s owner.

In the meantime, Minister for Grand Bahama, Ginger Moxey says the government is aware of the situation and facilitating conversations.

Minister of National Security, Wayne Munroe, says while in Grand Bahama recently he was approached by persons involved in the situation.
