Man Convicted of Web Shop Murder

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man is awaiting sentencing following his conviction for the 2018 shooting murder of Alvin Strachan.

Jurors unanimously convicted William Etienne of killing Strachan in the front of witnesses at the FML Web Shop on Balfour Avenue and East Street following a trial before Justice Franklyn Williams KC.

According to an eyewitness, Strachan sitting at the front of the computer at the web shop on August 24, when Etienne accused him of insulting his mother.

Strachan denied saying anything offensive about Etienne’s mother and begged for his life before He was shot multiple times.

Etienne, who represented himself, insisted that he was the victim of mistaken identity, although he admitted that he frequented the web shop.

The jury didn’t accept this and convicted Etienne.

He returns to court on February 8 for the penalty phase of his trial.

Kenny Thompson was the prosecutor. Mckell Pinder was the investigating officer.
