NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Months and months of time and energy go into preparing for the spectacular Junkanoo parades we all love to watch on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

But, there is a certain group of people that only have a matter of days to clean up the parade route down on Bay, that responsibility falls on the Bahamas Public Parks and Beaches Authority.

Managing Director David Barry explains how that process works, particularly with a postponed parade.

Barry says despite having less time to clean up Bay for the reopening of the normal business day, the cleanup process went smoothly.

And with just a few short days until the New Year’s Day Junkanoo parade, Barry says the team is already on standby.
