GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – The Junkanoo season is officially a wrap for now and each winner will have bragging rights for the next year but for some, this time will be used to make the necessary adjustments for the next big showdown.
GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – The Junkanoo season is officially a wrap for now and each winner will have bragging rights for the next year but for some, this time will be used to make the necessary adjustments for the next big showdown.
One of those groups, is the Swingers Junkanoo group and community organization.
Following the passing of their long-time leader, Anthony “Huck” Williams, the Swingers Junkanoo group is determined to hit the parade route and put on an amazing show in honor of the veteran junkanooer.
Chairman, Anjoun Armaly says this year they wanted to represent a new theme that paid homage to the working class of Grand Bahama..
Many users on social media are voicing their disappointment in the Swingers second place and a sixth consecutive win for another local group however, Armaly says they remain optimistic
Armaly says they are awaiting the official scoring package from Junkanoo officials and plan to make all necessary changes for the 2025 New Year’s Day parade.
