NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Betty Kelly Kenning Aquatics Center has been closed to the public since July of last year. 

The country is set to host CARIFTA Aquatics which will begin on March 28.

Our News exclusively obtained some footage, taken recently of the pool.

The sports minister told our Sasha Lightbourne on Wednesday that everything is ahead of schedule.

B.A.I.S.S. Track and Field

Well-placed sources confirmed to Our News that the Track and Field Championships will be held March 6th-8th.

On Thursday, President of the Bahamas Amateur Athletic Association Drumeco Archer told reporters, he hopes the 2024 edition of the B.A.I.S.S. Track and Field Championships can still happen.

This after rumors swirled of a cancellation earlier this week.

Archer, who was a guest at the Office of the Prime Minister Press Briefing says while he will assist with resolving this issue, the BAAA’s is not responsible for hosting of the event.

Volleyball

Mingoes women’s volleyball was in action against the Panthers in New Providence Volleyball action. 

They had a rough going in the first set, falling 25-5. 

They managed to find their bearings and take the second 25-22 but were unable to sustain their momentum, losing the last two sets 25-19 and 25-17, losing the match three games to one.
