Disability Official: It Doesn’t Sit Right With Me

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – President of The Bahamas Association for The Physically Disabled Charlotte Albury, is questioning government’s decision to reallocate twenty-five thousand dollars from The National Commission For Persons with Disabilities to help fund a memorial for the late Obie Wilchcombe.

In case you’re wondering, the association and the commission are separate entities. The association assists disabled children through daycare and special education at a Dolphin Drive facility.

A staple in the community, the BAPD continually relies on help from the government. While the BAPD does not benefit directly from the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities, they understand how funding plays a vital role in their community.

Meantime, the organization continues to make do with the funding received from the government and the private sector. Some of that funding is being used to enhance it’s current facility.
