NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Just days before one of the biggest grocery shopping weekends of the year, a popular supermarket was held up by a gun-wielding armed robber.

The shocking crime unfolded at Quality Supermarket, on Cable Beach, leaving staff and customers in shock.

That’s assistant store manager Yolanda Dorcely recounting the frightening events that unfolded just after 10 Tuesday morning.

She says once the suspect left the store, they quickly called the police.

Still traumatized, Dorscley says it was like the scene of an action movie adding this is something she has never experienced before.

The robbery has sent shockwaves throughout the community, with many expressing concern over the brazen nature of the crime.

But Dorcsley says it won’t deter them from doing their jobs.
