NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Grand Bahama Port Authority recently opened an office right here in New Providence.

The purpose is to connect investors with the city of Freeport.

The new office opened by the Grand Bahama Port Authority is just a few minutes away from the Lynden Pindling International Airport in the One West Plaza, the space is located in the Access Co-work Suites.

Officials say they intend to bring more awareness about the unique qualities that exist in the city of Freeport.

GBPA President Ian Rolle says he wants Bahamians not only in New Providence but across the country to participate in the growth that is projected for that northern island.

And as for how the office will operate.

A website has been launched there, people can request phone consultations or virtual meetings from Monday to Wednesday and in-person meetings are available at the Nassau office on Thursdays and Fridays.

Rolle says there’s over 2 billion worth of investments in the pipeline for the city of Freeport and he’s encouraging Bahamians to take advantage of their new office in Nassau as several executives, including himself will often be on the ground.

Now there’s been a lot of back and forth between the Grand Bahama Port Authority and the government over the past few months about the state of Freeport’s economy but the GBPA President says they hope their presence in New Providence will strengthen the relationship.

He referred to recent comments by the deputy prime minister at the Grand Bahama Chamber of Commerce Officers and Directors Banquet.
