NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Thick black smoke rose from eastern New Providence after a scrap metal yard on Joe Farrington Road went up in flames shortly after 10 a.m.

Officers taped off both sides of the road, to ease the process.

Our News Production Supervisor Terran Knowles moving to higher ground to capture these shots showing the flames.

The source of that blaze, CRT Enterprises, colloquially known as “Rolle’s Scrapyard”.

And, look at this footage captured by our drones showing massive smoke rising into the sky.

While police continued to fight the fire, the scrapyard’s owner telling reporters a derelict vehicle led to the blaze.

It’s not the first time there’s been a fire there. But this time, authorities say it was limited.

And for Rolle, the blaze while unfortunate, it won’t put his employees out of work.
