NASSAU, BAHAMAS – On Sunday, May 19th, Adelaide resident Charles Johnson spotted a fuel spill while on a bike ride in the Adelaide area. The stench of fumes led him to investigate. He tells us the wetlands are a vital part of the area’s ecosystem.

As for the cause of the spill, Senior Corporate Communications Manager of Bahamas Power and Light, Arnette Ingraham, tells us an out-of-service line being tested was discovered to have a breach.

But Johnson says it goes beyond the environmental concerns. He says many residents are still using well water. While remediation efforts have begun, Johnson hopes for more communication with the nearby residents.
