HOUSTON, TEXAS – Team Bahamas headed into day three of training camp and the biggest questions on everyone’s mind – who makes the final roster for Team Bahamas?

Head Coach Chris Demarco and his staff have several tough choices to make but there’s certainly no shortage of talent here in Houston.

One player was noticeably absent from training camp – Kai Jones of the Los Angeles Clippers.

Jones was a no-show at training camp but is still listed on the training camp roster.

As for who was in camp, Demarco is excited of the possibilities of what this group can accomplish.

The buzz keeps growing everyday as this is one of the strongest teams that The Bahamas has ever fielded in FIBA competition.

Swimming

The Bahamas Aquatics Federation is hosting what they anticipate will be the biggest edition of the national championships.

The meet will have its traditional lineup of clubs vying for their respective titles but this year will also include a large number of visiting swimmers hoping for a final opportunity to qualify for the the Paris olympics.

The four-day meet continues through Sunday at the betty kelly kenning aquatic center. Morning sessions begin each day at 9am and the evening sessions begin at 6pm.

Mako Aquatics is the defending champion and head into the meet with five consecutive titles.

Tennis

The Davis Cup woes continue in Paraguay as Team Bahamas fell to 0-2.

The team lost 0-3 to the host country Paraguay in Americas zone III play at the national tennis center in Asunción.

In singles play, Donte Armbrister lost 6-3, 6-3 to Martin del Puerto and Justin Roberts lost 6-4, 6-1 to Daniel Vallejo.

In doubles, Michael Major Jr. and Denali Nottage lost 6-2, 7-5 to Thiago Drozdowski and Jose Escurra Isnardi.

The Bahamas will face Venezuela Friday.

The rift between players and the Bahamas lawn and Tennis Association (BLTA) continues to grow as controversy emerged at the Davis Cup.

Rodney Carey Jr took to social media to voice his displeasure with issues surrounding the event and team captain Ricardo Demeritte.

Carey is no longer listed on the official Davis Cup website as a member of Team Bahamas.
