NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Our News spoke to several residents on Monday to get their reactions  to U.S. President Joe Biden’s announcement that he is dropping out from this year’s presidential race, ending his campaign for re-election.

It comes after weeks of mounting concern following a shaky debate performance against former President Donald Trump. 

There were mixed responses when we asked who people felt would be the best choice for president.

Business consultant, Fred Donathan, however, had a different perspective.

Grand bahamian Austin Grant says we’ll just have to wait and see who we flourish more under.

Nassau native, Bernadette Gibson, saying Bahamians may be more inclined to watch the election more closely because of relatives living abroad.

As for why it all matters, Donathan sums it up with a phrase we know all too well.
