NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A trial date has been set for two men accused of killing a former politician during an attempted armed robbery.

Jaico Choute and Nicarson Nixon are expected to be tried for the March 27 murder of former Tall Pines MP Donald Saunders on June 21, 2027.

Justice Guillimina Archer-Minns will hear the case.

According to police, Saunders was at Rags Bar in Gambier Village when Choute and Nixon robbed the business of $650.

The men allegedly shot Saunders in the neck when they tried to rob him.

Choute and Nixon have been denied bail and remain in custody.
