GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – It was a day for preparations in Bimini, Abaco, and Grand Bahama as local forecasters warn of tropical storm conditions from Milton. 

My cameraman, Dave Mackey, and I witnessed preparations on the streets of Grand Bahama Wednesday with many residents taking advantage of the free sand from Bahama Rock.

At Pinder’s Point in the south, a  line outside Ronnie’s Bakery is where we found educator Georgette Thompson who had bread on her supply list, just one item on her list of storm preparation items.

Gas stations were just as busy with motorists trying to fill up – just in case.
