NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The prosecution has rested its case against North Abaco MP Kirk Cornish.

He’s accused of raping, threatening to kill and assaulting his ex-girlfriend.

The incidents allegedly happened between January and April of 2023.

On Friday, one of the investigating officers ASP Ramando Russell said there was no physical evidence to support the woman’s case.

In her testimony, the woman claimed that Cornish raped her and spat in her face.

He’s accused of poking her in the eye, choking her and threatening to shoot her in the head.

Cornish isn’t expected to take the stand when the case resumes on Monday.

His lawyer, Tai Pinder-Mackey, will call character witnesses instead.
