Government Breaks Ground on $8M Healthcare Facility in Eleuthera

ELEUTHERA, BAHAMAS – The government is honoring a longstanding promise to provide quality healthcare services to all Bahamians, including those on the island of Eleuthera. 

On Wednesday, officials broke ground on a new state-of-the-art facility set to span four acres and carry a price tag of over $8 million. 

Central and South Eleuthera MP and Works Minister Clay Sweeting says this project marks a major milestone in healthcare access for Eleuthera.

Health and Wellness Minister Dr. Michael Darville says the medical center will be outfitted with a morgue, a fully equipped laboratory and have tele-medicine capabilities.

Prime Minister Philip Davis also attended today’s groundbreaking saying it’s part of his administration’s push provide healthcare for all.
